Geographically, it is the second largest country in the world and accordingly, it offers one of the most diverse landscapes in the world. Canada is known internationally as a world-class skiing and snowboarding destination due to long northern winters, heavy snowfall and a wild assortment of mountains and peaks that span the nation. But the country also offers many other activities that cater to hardcore thrill-seeking individuals. From the tides of the Pacific to the flatlands of the Western Canadian prairies, this enormous country has the right fix for any adrenaline junkie.
People need something to smile about during the winter and swooshing down snowy slopes on a pair of skis or a snowboard seems to do the trick. Skiing (and boarding) is enjoyed by many, from kids who haven't even been walking long to cautious moms to extreme sport junkies. With over 17,000 acres (8,880 ha) of skiable terrain at more than a dozen resorts, the peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains become a winter wonderland.
There is a lot that makes Vermont a great place to ski. Not only are there 11 downhill ski resorts to choose from, but the Green Mountains get a good supply of big, fluffy flakes, offer thousands of acres of skiable terrain and quaint New England villages to boot. There's even a museum dedicated to the history of skiing in the state, the birthplace of both the tow rope and snowboarding...
There is far more to Wyoming
than Wild West history, shoot-outs and empty space. There are mountains (seven
ranges) and there is snow (more than 400-600 inches). Where snow falls on mountains,
there are also skiers. And snowboarders. And ski resorts...
